Gardswell: The legendary shield of the Mighty Champion, companion to the invincible sword Overwhelm. Gardswell is an enchanted shield forged of the mystic metal miraculum. It is able to absorbs all but the mightiest blows and can withstand any mortal weapon. The shield can also absorb or deflect magical attacks: spells, dragon breath, the petrifying gaze of the basilisk, etc. Because miraculum is very light, Gardswell weighs much less than would a comparable shield made of steel, bronze or other normal metals. This gives its user the advantages of being able to move faster in battle, as well as reducing fatigue. Gardswell can also be used as a flotation device.
