Overwhelm: The legendary sword of the Mighty Champion. Overwhelm is a companion to the enchanted shield Gardswell. Forged of the mystic metal miraculum and heavily enchanted, Overwhelm has many wondrous properties. Because miraculum is an exceptionally lightweight metal, the sword weighs much less than would a comparable steel blade. This gives its wielder the advantage of being able to make faster attacks, as well as relief from the fatigue caused by swinging a heavier sword. Yet Overwhelm is also incredibly sharp and strong, able to slice through stone like hot butter. Overwhelm can also absorb or deflect some magical attacks.

The sword is also enchanted with an adaptive onboard fighting intelligence which learns the fighting moves of opponents and is eventually able to not only react to, but anticipate attacks. This is a great help on those occasions when Overwhelm's owner lacks native fighting ability or training.

Overwhelm can also be mentally summoned by its rightful owner. A wish for Overwhelm to be in hand will cause the sword to fly to its owner's grasp. The ultimate distance over which such a summons is effective is not known, but the sword will fly or cut its way through any obstacles to reach its true owner.

Overwhelm also floats in water and will emit a pink glow on command.
