Rubis Corundum: (b. 970 AH) Daughter of Corun Corundum, the richest man in the Republic of Zastria, and Jewella of Tyr, reputed to be the most beautiful woman in Zastria and descended through both parents from the pre-republican aristocracy of Zastria. After their mother died giving birth to them, Rubis and her twin sister Sapphrina Corundum were raised under the protective eye of their father. In 986, Rubis and Sapphrina were co-winners of the prestigious Miss Zastria pageant, the only tie in pageant history. As an ambitious member of the Zastrian Senate, Corun Corundum viewed his daughters as valuable assets whose arranged marriages would help cement valuable political alliances. Rubis and Sapphrina refused to marry the husbands chosen for them, instead fleeing Zastria and seeking refuge in Caratha. In Caratha they secured fortune and fame as leading celebutantes. They authored a bestselling account of their adventures, entitled  Naughty Nymphs, and soon rose to the top of the fabled Scene.
