House of Slash: An ancient noble family of Caratha, one of the oldest, older even than the House of Glent. Scarlet and sable are the house colors.

The prince of the House of Slash is an hereditary member of the Carathan Senate. By ties of blood and patronage, the Slash command the loyalty of many lesser houses. Fully half the private land in Caratha is owned by the Slash, including much of the Grand Bazaar, most of the Market of Chains, and much prime riverfront and seafront land, as well as farmland and mines outside the city walls. Rents and commissions are a major source of revenue for the Slash. The family also owns a controlling interest in Arden Shipping, the World Gladiating Federation, the CASCAR chariot racing association, and Warcorp, the largest provider of mercenaries in the Eleven Kingdoms.

The family is rumored to have ties to the Dark Magic Society, demon worship, and kitten juggling.

A Slash last held the consulship in the 720s AH.

In 990 AH, the head of the house is Damien Slash, eldest son of the late Damocles Slash, and next brother of Natalia Slash.
